If we could invite you over for a coffee, we’d do it in a heartbeat. Since we can’t always do that, sending you a bag (or two) of your favourite Rajah and Kili beans is the next best thing.

Rajah and Kili is our family-owned coffee adventure, inspired by our love for sharing the simple joys of home with those we cherish. We've blended our Australian and Indian backgrounds (Rohan originally hails from India, though he's been here so long we swear he's more Aussie than some locals) to create something special. From our sweet spot in the Dandenong Ranges, just outside Melbourne, we’re bringing you exceptional coffee that’s meant to be enjoyed day-to-day.

We're here for everyday people who love to brew their own cuppa at home, but like to keep things simple; we offer a small, personally curated range of delicious coffee beans, personally packaged with genuine care for each customer who crosses our path. Unlike other brands who might make great coffee but operate at a scale that makes personal service impossible and offer a range that is easy to get lost in, we ensure that every purchase is an experience that feels tailored and meaningful.

Because coffee is ultimately a really personal thing; it's something you look forward to, a make-or-break moment in the daily human experience (sounds dramatic, but anyone who's had a bad cup will agree). We got tired of feeling swamped in coffee culture, chasing the next accessory or competition-level technique, when all we wanted was a seriously flavorful coffee, easy to brew and impossible to get wrong, to enjoy together.

We take our coffee seriously but don't complicate it. Freshness, bean origin, and processing methods are crucial, but the real test is more straightforward:

  1. Would we enjoy this coffee every day?
  2. Would we be excited to serve this to a friend who dropped by for a chat?

What really matters is that our beans enhance your daily cuppa, every time.

Atithi devo bhava.
Be one for whom the guest is God.

To us, hospitality goes beyond a transactional experience, and instead moves us into the essence of invitation. It’s about making you feel like part of our home, while we catch up on what’s meaningful to you.

Here with Rajah and Kili we're shining a light on the warmth of a genuine welcome. We want you to kick off your shoes and sink into a comfy chair while we warm the mugs and ask, “How do you like your coffee?”.

And the name? Well, the name Rajah and Kili carries a lot of heart; it’s a nod to the warmth of family and the joy of home. In Tamil, Rajah means King (or Prince) and Kili means Parrot. It’s a term of endearment, not unlike how Aussie nans might call their grandkids Possum. It reminds us of warm memories of time spent at home running amok, and having a biscuit and a cuppa over the kitchen table when we were older (but perhaps not wiser). It also reminds us to take time in a busy world to create that same sincere, welcoming culture for our own littles. Our goal is to bring that same warmth to your home with every cup of Rajah and Kili coffee you brew.

We’re delighted to have you with us and can’t wait to share our favourite coffees with you. If you have any questions or need anything, drop us a line.

Cheers,
Rohan & Casey
